Ern Phang Director
Lawyer / Notary Public
Ern has worked in the legal industry since 1996. He has had a variety of legal roles within the government, the military, a large international law firm, and boutique city and suburban law firms before establishing the beginnings of Phang Legal in 2002.
Ern heads the trade marks and intellectual property team and helps clients to protect their business branding through trade mark registration and enforcement. With a background in litigation, Ern is well aware of what can go wrong and what happens when they do go wrong. He approaches every situation from a perspective of ‘what if’ in order to provide his clients with wise counsel, legal guidance and practical solutions. Ern is also a public notary.
Aside from his busy legal practice, Ern has also been recognised for his service to the community with awards from the Law Society and the Centre for Volunteering. Ern has been a member of the Western Sydney Local Venues Council (ie, previously looking after Parramatta/Pirtek Stadium) and the Sydney Hills Business Chamber. Ern continues to support various not for profit organisations.
When not in the office, Ern does jiu-jitsu. That’s it. Some call it ‘people origami’, the art of folding clothes while people are still wearing them.
Ern’s dedication to his clients and community service continues to drive Phang Legal from strength to strength.
Ern has recently completed an eLearning course in Infection Control Training – COVID 19.
